Summer School and Conference 2019

In the second week of July 2019, the EXRIMA Summer School and Conference took place at the University of Bayreuth.  Both young and established researchers from three continents discussed current issues in experimental management accounting research, also from a methodological perspective. The organizers appreciate support by The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

The 2019 EXRIMA was co-chaired by Prof. Michael Williamson (University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign), who is currently editor of one of the top journals in accounting, “The Accounting Review.” Twenty-one doctoral students and assistant professors from Belgium, Germany, the Netherland, and the United States participated.

At the conference, authors from China, Germany, Canada, and the United States presented papers from the broad spectrum of experimental management accounting research. Topics covered were, for example, the behavioral effects of using big data, the impact of non-monetary incentives, and the impact of incentives and controls on misreporting.
